Undergraduate FAQ
- Read your UD email daily and respond in a timely manner
- Reach out for help when academic or personal challenges arise
- Meet with your academic advisor at least once a semester to discuss your academic progress
- Arrive on time and understand that if you are late, you may have to reschedule
- Be prepared by reviewing your UDSIS Degree Audit and bringing your updated four-year plan
- Turn off your cell phone
- Understand your degree requirements and alert your academic advisor if your plans change
- Understand and use the UDSIS system
- Know the academic calendar and deadlines
- Utilize campus resources as needed and/or recommended
- Read and understand University policies
- Identify and create your personal educational goals that are consistent with your interests, values, and abilities – and communicate them to your academic advisor
All “business undeclared” students are required to declare a major within the Lerner College.
Deadlines to Declare or Change Major
- New freshmen admitted in the fall: Oct.1 of sophomore year
- New freshmen admitted in the spring: March 1 of sophomore year
- Students admitted to a Lerner major (other than Hospitality Business Management, Hospitality Industry Management and Sport Management) may change majors until October 1/March 1 of sophomore year
- Transfer students may apply to change majors, subject to department admission criteria. For more information, see the “What if I want to switch my major?” FAQ.
After the deadline, you may still declare or change your major(s), but will be subject to department admission requirements. You are not guaranteed the major of your choice after October 1 of your sophomore year.
Sport Management majors that matriculated in 2017 fall and after and all Hospitality Business Management majors, Hospitality Industry Management majors interested in changing their major to another business area must apply to the department, and are subject to department admission criteria. How Do I Declare?
Log on to your UDSIS account and submit a request for change of major/minor form. Indicate the major(s) of your choice.

The Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics will only accept business credits from other AACSB-accredited institutions. Transfer credits are subject to evaluation by the departments.

Students whose major is outside of Lerner College of Business & Economics (BE) will now have limited access to BE courses. Non-Lerner students will only be able to register and complete up to 25 credits in their undergrad careers (excluding the Business Essentials [ACCT200, BUAD100, ECON100 and FINC200], transfer and test credit). Cross-listed courses owned by BE will also be affected.
The information below will help you change to a Lerner College major.

- If the student does not have the minimum cumulative GPA required for the major in Finance, the student will still be considered for admission on a case by case basis by e-mailing Dr. John Stocker, Associate Chair of the Finance Department, at stocker@udel.edu.

- If the student does not have the 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA, the student will still be considered for admission on a case by case basis if a grade of B+ or better is earned in MISY 225.
