You’ll work with a Lerner professional advisor on course selection, major/minor selection, study abroad options, transfer credit equivalency, excused absences and academic crises.

If you are interested in one of Lerner’s accelerated (4+1) programs, speak with your academic advisor in the second semester of your junior year about applying to the 4+1 program.

Your Responsibilities
As an advisee, it’s your responsibility to:
- Read your UD email daily and respond in a timely manner
- Reach out for help when academic or personal challenges arise
- Meet with your academic advisor at least once a semester to discuss your academic progress
- Arrive on time and understand that if you are late, you may have to reschedule
- Be prepared by reviewing your progress and plans in Stellic and bringing your updated four-year plan
- Turn off your cell phone
- Understand your degree requirements and alert your academic advisor if your plans change
- Understand and use the UDSIS system
- Know the academic calendar and deadlines
- Utilize campus resources as needed and/or recommended
- Read and understand University policies
- Identify and create your personal educational goals that are consistent with your interests, values, and abilities – and communicate them to your academic advisor
