Getting Started
Please complete all the forms below in order to establish your profile as a Principal Investigator (PI) at the University of Delaware. Please cc Krista Urbaniak (urbaniak@udel.edu) on all forms.

- Research Office PI approval form – This form must be completed and submitted, along with a copy of an updated CV prior to PI approval. Final submission requires Chairperson signature.
- Proposal Development Assistance Request Form – The Research Office offers several proposal preparation services from graphics assistance to document development. Fill this form out to request help. Let us know if service is requested by submitting the Grant Request Form.
- Conflict of Interest Webform -This form must be completed annually by all PI’s. There is brief training that goes along with the form and has each PI identify any possible conflict of interest.
- Employee Demographic Data form – This form allows faculty and staff to update any/all demographic data such as address, degree, and most importantly for PI’s, keywords.
Lerner College Research Grant
Lerner College is committed to fostering high-quality research that contributes significantly to our strategy of supporting publications in top journals. To this end, we are pleased to offer grants aimed at supporting projects with tangible outputs, such as highly regarded academic journal publications. These grants represent an excellent opportunity to advance your research while supporting Lerner College’s mission and strategic goals.
Grant Details:
- Objective – The grant aims to provide financial support for research projects, encourage activities that contribute to Lerner’s development, and promote the dissemination of findings through publications and presentations.
- Eligibility – This program is open to all full-time Lerner faculty members, with a maximum of $5,000 in grant funding per (PI) faculty member per academic year.
- Use of Funds – Funds may purchase data, hardware, and software, hire research assistants, and support other research-related activities. Please note that grant funds cannot be used for travel or to fund faculty salaries.
- Proposal Requirements – Proposals should be no more than two pages, excluding the faculty vitae and budget. They must include the title, PI and co-PIs’ names and titles, an abstract, literature review, research objectives, budget, and more, as detailed in the attached grant RFP.
The submission deadline for fall is closed. Subject to funding availability, the next opportunity will open in January 2025.
