Graduate Internship Program

Welcome to the Lerner Graduate Internship Program (GIP). Our program is designed to connect you – our talented graduate students from the Lerner College – with leading employers in various industries. Lerner graduate internship experiences increase your knowledge, skills and hireability.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Graduate Internship Program, you must:

  • Be enrolled full-time in an M.S., MBA or Ph.D. program in Lerner.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Attend a GIP Information Session prior to submitting your screening application. (These sessions are advertised throughout each semester. If you cannot attend a scheduled information session, you may substitute this requirement for a 1:1 coaching session with Jessica Venturi. You must schedule the appointment in Handshake and type “GIP Info Session” in the appointment notes.)
  • Complete the screening application process and be accepted into the program as an eligible candidate. If you were already approved in a previous screening cycle, you do not need to reapply.
  • International Students: To be eligible for off-campus opportunities, you must have completed two consecutive full-time semesters prior to your internship start date.

    Screening Application Process

After attending a GIP Information Session, submit your screening application and resume.

Your application will be denied if you have not yet attended a GIP Information Session or your resume does not meet Career Services’ graduate resume standards. The information session and our resources can help you get your resume in top shape before submitting.

    Screening Application Deadlines

Screening applications are accepted twice a year.

    • July 1: Attend an information session and submit your screening application by July 1 to be eligible for internships that begin Sept. 1 (Fall) or later.
    • December 1: Attend an information session and submit your screening application by Dec. 1 to be considered for internships that begin June 1 (Summer) or later.

    Approval

If you are approved as an eligible candidate, you will receive instructions on how to apply for individual opportunities and interviews. Remember that acceptance into the program does not guarantee you will receive an interview invitation or job offer.
